Senior Director of EngineeringGlobal FinanceUp to 220,000 + Bonus & SharesLondon (3-4 Days Onsite)We have partnered with a major global finance business on the appointment of a Senior Director of Engineering to lead its engineering organisation across multiple territories.This is a newly shaped leadership seat at the centre of an ambitious, software-led transformation, delivered across markets that each carry their own financial-services regulation, with a mandate to modernise the technology behind every customer touchpoint.You'll set the technology direction and drive innovation across a large, always-on estate spanning several European markets, leading a team of over 100 engineers, product and architecture professionals within a global tech organisation of over 1,000 people.What you'll lead:Engineering delivery across multiple European territories, aligning teams and priorities across markets and time zonesTechnology that meets differing financial-services and data-protection regimes country by country - from GDPR through to local regulatory and compliance obligations in each marketThe end-to-end technology direction across customer-facing platforms - contact centre and telephony, IVR, dealer finance tooling, mobile and Salesforce estatesA significant modernisation and technical-debt agenda across the full stackCloud, AI and DevSecOps strategy on Google Cloud Platform, with an API-first, cloud-native way of workingA matched-pair partnership with Product on quarterly prioritisation and OKR deliveryResilience, security and always-on continuity across a 24/7 environmentMulti-million technology budgets, vendor negotiation and capex/opex planningTeam growth, coaching, succession and inclusive culture-building at scaleWhat we're looking for:Proven experience owning technology delivery across several European countries, each with its own regulatory and compliance landscapeA strong track record of building and running systems that satisfy varied, jurisdiction-specific financial-services regulation and data-privacy lawProven years in increasingly senior technology leadership roles on large-scale consumer programmesTrack record leading engineering organisations of 100+ people across more than one countryDepth across cloud-native, headless and API-led modernisation (SpringBoot microservices, federated GraphQL/Apollo, React/Angular; AEM/Adobe and Salesforce exposure a plus)Strong DevSecOps grounding and a compelling, well-communicated technical visionComfort operating in a matrixed enterprise where commercial and regulatory pressures pull in different directions across marketsOwnership of large technology budgets and vendor relationshipsThe Package:Base: Up to 220,000Strong Bonus & Shares offering3-4 days onsite, London basedThis is a complex leadership role rather than a pure "modernise the stack" brief.
