Electrical Engineer Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk Contract: Initial 4–6 Month Contract Shift Pattern: Continental – 12-hour Days & Nights Shift Cycle: 28-day rotation Pay: £36 per hour We are currently recruiting for Engineers to support a major client based in Bury St Edmunds on an initial 4–6 month contract, with the potential for further work. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced engineers with a background in packaging, filling or automated production environments to join an established site engineering team. The Role Working as part of a dedicated shift team, you will provide engineering support across a range of FMCG production and packaging machinery, helping to ensure equipment remains operational, safe and efficient. The machinery and processes you will support include: FMCG filling and packaging machinery Palletising equipment Intermediate conveying systems Silos and bins Level measurement equipment Machinery handling products from approximately ½kg to 25kg Electrical and engineering fault finding Planned and reactive maintenance Supporting production teams to minimise downtime Ensuring machinery and equipment are operated and maintained safely Shift Pattern The position operates on a 28-day continental shift pattern, working 12-hour day and night shifts. Week 1: D D O O N N N Week 2: O O D D O O O Week 3: N N O O D D D Week 4: O O N N O O O About You We are particularly interested in engineers who can demonstrate a strong formal engineering background alongside practical experience within an FMCG or automated manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have: Recognised Electrical qualification / formal apprenticeship 18th Edition – BS7671 CCNSG or CSC safety certification Previous experience within an FMCG filling, packaging or production environment Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance experience Experience working with automated machinery and production equipment BENEFITS OF WORKING FOR ARC Working with one of the leading Recruitment agencies with 18 years within the marketplace, recruiting for many of the region’s leading companies.
