Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineers
to join their growing
Active Fire & Security team , covering the
North West and Yorkshire & Humber
regions.
As a Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer, you will work independently and as part of an established engineering team, providing reactive, maintenance, installation, commissioning and surveying services across an existing and growing customer base.
You will be responsible for ensuring customers receive a high standard of technical service and customer care, acting as a professional representative of the business on site.
The role will involve working across a range of life safety and security systems, including:
Fire alarm systems Intruder alarm systems CCTV Access control Emergency lighting Fire extinguishers Associated fire and security equipment Key Responsibilities
Carry out installation, commissioning, maintenance, repair and basic troubleshooting of fire and security systems. Complete preventative maintenance and field modifications. Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently and professionally. Maintain accurate customer service logbooks, PDA reports, compliance documentation and other required paperwork. Maintain effective communication with customers and the office to ensure issues are resolved and appropriately followed up. Ensure tools and test equipment are maintained and correctly calibrated. Comply with all Health & Safety requirements and relevant industry regulations. Identify potential sales opportunities, including additional system requirements and new contracts, and work collaboratively with the sales team. Deliver a consistently high standard of customer service and professionalism. We are looking for experienced engineers with a strong background in
fire alarm and security systems , particularly those with hands-on installation and commissioning experience.
You will ideally have: Extensive experience working with active fire alarm and intruder alarm systems. Strong knowledge of life safety systems, electrical circuits and components. Proven ability to diagnose faults and resolve technical issues. Experience carrying out installation, commissioning and maintenance work. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service skills and a professional approach. The ability to work independently as well as part of a wider engineering team. The physical ability to work in different environments, including working at height, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces and lifting equipment. A willingness to participate in out-of-hours standby and call-out arrangements. Qualification Previous experience with
active fire alarm and intruder alarm systems is essential . Industry qualifications/certifications such as
ECS, IPAF and PASMA
are desirable.
