This position requires a strong blend of technical knowledge, people management, and communication skills, alongside a passion for supporting industry standards and best practice.The RoleReporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Technical Manager will oversee the day-to-day delivery of technical services while ensuring that technical information, guidance, and industry developments are communicated effectively throughout the organisation and wider industry.The role combines technical leadership, project management, team development, stakeholder engagement, and service delivery responsibilities.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team ManagementLead, mentor, and develop a team of technical professionals.Set performance expectations and support team members in achieving service objectives.Promote a collaborative, high-performing, and customer-focused culture.Manage workloads and resources to ensure efficient service delivery.Technical Services & SupportOversee the delivery of technical support services and technical enquiry functions.Manage the development and distribution of technical guidance, bulletins, manuals, and industry resources.Ensure technical information remains accurate, current, and compliant with relevant legislation and standards.Provide technical expertise and advice on heating, fuel combustion, and electrical systems.Project & Consultancy DeliverySupport the CEO in the delivery of strategic technical projects and initiatives.Manage consultancy activities and technical service offerings.Monitor project progress and ensure delivery against agreed timescales and objectives.Contribute technical expertise to organisational planning and development projects.Stakeholder EngagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, contractors, service providers, and industry bodies.Represent the organisation at industry meetings, webinars, exhibitions, and events.Chair and participate in internal and external technical meetings and working groups.Support cross-department collaboration by providing technical insight and guidance.Operational ResponsibilitiesManage technical information, reports, statistics, and consultation responses.Oversee online technical resources and associated service functions.Ensure technical processes are continuously reviewed and improved.Contribute to the development of new services and initiatives that support industry needs.Skills & Experience RequiredEssentialProven experience in a technical management, engineering, or supervisory role.Strong background in heating systems, fuel combustion technologies, electrical engineering, or a related building services discipline.Demonstrable experience leading, mentoring, and developing technical teams.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities.Experience interpreting and applying building regulations, industry standards, and technical guidance documentation.Strong organisational, administrative, and IT skills.Ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.DesirableExperience delivering consultancy or technical advisory services.Knowledge of renewable heating technologies and low-carbon energy systems.Experience producing technical publications, guidance documents, webinars, or industry presentations.Membership of a recognised professional engineering institution.Personal AttributesThe successful candidate will be:A confident and approachable leader.Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.Solution-focused and proactive in their approach.A strong communicator capable of influencing a range of stakeholders.Committed to maintaining high technical standards and industry best practice.Open to innovation and continuous improvement.Passionate about supporting and developing others.Additional InformationOccasional travel throughout the UK and Ireland will be required.Attendance at industry events, exhibitions, meetings, and occasional overnight stays may be necessary.Full UK driving licence preferred.This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced technical professional looking to meet industry standards, lead a skilled team, and play a significant role in shaping future technical services and industry best practice. #4827587 - Jack Downes
