Infrastructure Engineer – Keep Critical Systems Running, Secure and Always-On

Location: Oldham (Hybrid)

Rate: £33.64 per hour

Hours: 35 hours per week

Contract Length: 12 Weeks

We're looking for a skilled IT professional to help support and maintain a complex enterprise infrastructure environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring critical network and security services remain available 24/7, tackling incidents, resolving technical issues, and driving continuous improvement across the estate.

What You'll Be Doing

Supporting and operating enterprise network and security infrastructure

Managing incidents, troubleshooting technical issues, and resolving problems efficiently

Maintaining and optimising Cisco and Fortinet technologies

Monitoring infrastructure performance and ensuring service availability

Contributing to infrastructure projects and service improvements

Working within ITIL-aligned processes to deliver high-quality IT services

Helping to safeguard business-critical systems and data

What We're Looking For

Strong networking and security infrastructure experience

Hands-on knowledge of Cisco and/or Fortinet technologies

Experience using monitoring and management tools

Understanding of incident, problem, and change management processes

Excellent communication, organisation, and prioritisation skills

A proactive mindset with a passion for reliable and secure IT services

Essential Qualifications

Cisco CCNA, Fortinet NSE4, or equivalent certification

Educated to GCSE Level (Level 2) or above

Desirable Qualifications

Computer Science degree or equivalent industry experience

ITIL Foundation Certificate

ITIL Intermediate Certificate – Operational Support & Analysis Module (training can be provided)
