Data Scientist Engineer (Fixed term)

By fostering an environment where everyone feels welcome, valued, and supported, we reflect the vibrant communities we serve and empower our people to thrive..  We are looking for a Data Scientist to join the Stonegate Group Data Science team on a 6 month fixed term contract basis, providing cover and continuity across our MiXR media analytics function. MiXR is Stonegate's in-venue advertising network, operating across 2,500+ screens and running 10-20 supplier media campaigns simultaneously. You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of commercial trial results; from experimental design and data extraction through to statistical analysis and clear, business-ready reporting. Applications are welcome from recent graduates with relevant internship or placement experience, as well as candidates with previous commercial data science or analytics experience. Apply rigorous significance testing and probability-based inference to determine campaign effectiveness Translate statistical outputs into clear, commercial narratives suitable for supplier and internal stakeholders Manage campaign performance tracking and results reporting across concurrent supplier engagementsSupport campaign setup and configuration within Stonegate's advertising and analytics infrastructure Statistical Analysis Apply hypothesis testing, confidence interval estimation, and Bayesian methods where appropriate to support business decisions Identify and appropriately handle data quality issues, outliers, and confounding variables in experimental data Produce clean, audit-ready analysis that supports commercial sign-off and supplier accountability Data Extraction and Engineering Write efficient SQL queries to extract and transform data from Snowflake and other data sources Build and maintain Python scripts and pipelines for repeatable analytical workflows Work within Databricks for data processing where required (desirable but not essential) Strong grounding in statistics: probability theory, hypothesis testing, significance testing, confidence intervals, and experimental design Ability to communicate statistical results clearly and confidently to commercial, non-technical audiences Proficiency in Python for data analysis and pipeline development Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and transformation Degree-level education in a quantitative discipline (Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or equivalent) Previous applied experience, including internship or placement — either post-undergraduate or post-Masters Experience working on commercial trials or campaign measurement in a business environment Familiarity with Databricks or similar cloud data platforms Exposure to Snowflake or equivalent data warehouse technology Experience with A/B testing platforms or media analytics Understanding of AI/ML concepts and their application to business problems From lifestyle perks and flexible support to mental health resources, our benefits are designed to help you thrive, both in and out of work.  ~25 days of annual leave, plus 8 bank holidays, with the option to purchase up to 5 additional days of leave each year  ~ Bonus Scheme ~ Access to discounted Private Medical Insurance through Vitality  ~ Exclusive discounts on Dental Insurance  ~ Reward Card via the MiXR app, giving you and your friends 25% off food and drinks as well as VIP entry across our Managed Estate ~ Life Assurance which gives access to Help @ Hand  ~ The Stonegate Xtra portal with access to a wide range of high street discounts and offers  ~ Discounted access to David Lloyd membership  ~ If you have a disability as outlined by the Equality Act 2010 and require reasonable adjustments to be made during the recruitment process, please let us know in advance so that any support, aids or adaptations can be put in place to assist you.
