Overview
Altura Recruitment are seeking a talented and committed Event Sous Chef to join our client. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced chef with strong leadership abilities and a genuine passion for food. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, supporting the team in delivering exceptional food and high-quality events that meet our exacting standards. Key Responsibilities
Support the Head Chef in designing and developing innovative menus that align with current trends and client expectations
Lead, supervise, and motivate the kitchen team to maintain efficient operations and consistently high standards
Oversee food preparation and production, ensuring compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations
Take an active role in cooking, presentation, and plating to ensure dishes meet specification and quality standards
Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage storage effectively to reduce waste
Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant kitchen environment in line with health and safety guidelines
Train and mentor team members on food safety, preparation techniques, and service standards
Work collaboratively with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless event execution
Skills & Experience
Demonstrated experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen
Strong background in event catering and producing high-quality dishes across a range of cuisines
Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and lead by example
High level of competence in food preparation, cooking, and presentation
Sound knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen compliance
Previous experience in event catering or hospitality is highly desirable
Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment
