AI Engineer - Contract (6 Months, Outside IR35)

Fully Remote | SC Clearance Required

We're recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing UK technology company building AI-powered software used in critical, real-world operations. The work goes straight into live, production systems that real users depend on, in a sector where reliability and security are non-negotiable.

The Role

We're looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join on a 6-month contract, integrating LLM's and broader AI capabilities into production-grade software. You'll work as part of a cross-functional team, translating complex product requirements into reliable, scalable technical solutions, building AI that works, not just AI that demos well.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, build, and deploy production-grade AI software
• Apply emerging AI architecture patterns - RAG, agentic workflows, evals, fine-tuning, LLM orchestration directly into the product
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to ship technical solutions at pace
• Ensure the reliability and scalability of AI-powered features in a demanding, high-availability production environment
• Contribute to raising AI engineering practices and standards across the team

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years professionally developing products involving AI, LLMs, or applied machine learning/data science, with proven experience deploying models or AI systems into production
• Deep understanding of AI/ML architectures and patterns: RAG, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, xwzovoh evals, LLM orchestration, or equivalent applied ML/data science methods
• Python and/or TypeScript
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced envrionemt
• Active UK SC Clearance required
