Stores Manager – Manufacturing / Engineering

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum

Hours: Mon - Fri 08:00 - 17:00

We are recruiting for an experienced Stores Manager to join a well-established manufacturing business.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, hands-on individual to take ownership of the engineering stores function, ensuring effective stock control, purchasing and availability of essential spare parts and materials to support a busy production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day running of the engineering stores.

Manage stock levels, inventory accuracy and replenishment of engineering spare parts and consumables.

Ensure critical components are readily available to minimise production downtime.

Manage purchasing activities, supplier relationships and delivery schedules.

Conduct regular stocktakes, audits and inventory checks.

Identify opportunities to improve stock control processes and reduce costs.

Work closely with engineering, maintenance and production teams to ensure operational requirements are met.

Maintain accurate records using stock management and ERP systems.

Ensure the stores area is organised, safe and operating efficiently.

Implement improvements to stores procedures and inventory management.

Skills & Experience Required

Previous experience in a Stores Manager, Engineering Stores Supervisor, Inventory Manager or similar position.

Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.

Good knowledge of engineering spare parts, mechanical and electrical components.

Strong stock control, inventory management and purchasing experience.

Experience using ERP, MRP or computerised stock management systems.

Excellent organisational and communication skills.

Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively with engineering and production teams.

A proactive, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.
