About the role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to lead the successful delivery of construction projects, overseeing all site operations and ensuring works are completed safely, on time, to a high standard, and within budget.
This is a key leadership role responsible for managing site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders while driving programme performance, quality, and project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day site operations and take overall responsibility for project delivery.
- Lead site teams and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and efficient coordination of works.
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, company procedures, and industry best practice.
- Liaise with design, commercial, and project teams to manage drawings, specifications, and technical queries.
- Monitor project programmes, producing short-term look-ahead schedules and identifying potential risks or delays.
- Maintain quality standards through inspections, defect management, and completion processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and project performance.
- Support project reporting, resource planning, and procurement activities.
- Mentor and develop site teams, promoting a positive and high-performing culture.
Requirements
Essential
- CITB SMSTS qualification.
- Valid CSCS Card.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Proven experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager within the construction industry.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Excellent understanding of construction programmes, site operations, and health and safety requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Desirable
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- NVQ/SVQ Level 6 in Construction Management (or equivalent).
- Trade background or construction apprenticeship.
- Experience delivering complex or large-scale construction projects.
