About the role

We are working with a leading professional services organisation in Manchester city centre who are looking to appoint an experienced Legal PA to join their busy Disputes team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Salary: £33,000-36,000

Contract: 12 months - strong chance of perm after the contract

Hybrid: 3 days in the office 2 days from home


This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PA who enjoys working in a fast-paced professional environment and is confident providing proactive support to Partners and senior fee earners. The role combines traditional PA responsibilities with client, financial, business development and matter management support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive, high-quality PA support to a team of Partners and fee earners.
  • Manage complex diaries, meetings, travel arrangements and forward planning.
  • Organise meeting rooms, hospitality, itineraries and meeting packs.
  • Support fee earners with billing, financial reports, matter balances and working capital.
  • Assist with business development activity including events, conferences, CRM administration, bids and tenders.
  • Support client relationship activity including meetings, events and client reporting.
  • Manage the end-to-end matter opening and inception process, including engagement letters, matter specifications, conflict checks and client due diligence.
  • Maintain accurate file management, including matter closures, billing, clearing balances, WIP and archiving.
  • Coordinate document production and delegate appropriate work to the Document Production team.
  • Ensure all administrative tasks are completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
  • Work closely with internal teams including Finance, Business Development, Onboarding and Risk and Compliance.
  • Follow firmwide policies and procedures and ensure all required training and compliance activity is completed.


About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • At least three years' experience in a comparable PA or professional services environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Proven experience providing exceptional client service.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a strong eye for detail.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, demanding office environment.
  • The ability to prioritise effectively and work independently while also contributing positively to a team.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with a genuine commitment to exceeding expectations.
  • Experience within a law firm or professional services environment would be highly advantageous.
