Maths Teacher – SEMH Setting – Stoke-on-Trent

Chalk Education is recruiting on behalf of a specialist education setting in Stoke-on-Trent, seeking a dedicated and resilient Maths Teacher to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Details:

• Location: Stoke-on-Trent
• Role: Maths Teacher
• Setting: SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health)
• Start: Immediate / ASAP
• Contract: Temporary with potential for permanent placement
• Pay Rate: £160+ per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
• Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
• Working Pattern: Term time only

About the Role:

You will be responsible for delivering Maths lessons to students who may display challenging behaviour and require additional support to engage with learning. The role demands patience, adaptability, and strong behaviour management skills, alongside a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.

Class sizes are typically smaller, allowing for a more personalised approach to teaching and learning.

Requirements:

• Recognised teaching qualification: QTS, PTTLS, or QTLS
• Experience working with students with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour is highly desirable
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• A resilient, calm, and empathetic approach
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
