Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and high-quality Humanities lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential).
Teach across Humanities subjects (e.g. History, Geography, or Religious Studies), depending on specialism.
Plan and develop stimulating schemes of work that inspire curiosity and critical thinking.
Encourage students to explore diverse perspectives and develop analytical and evaluative skills.
Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment.
Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
Contribute to the wider life of the school, including trips, enrichment activities, and extracurricular opportunities.
Maintain high expectations for behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support student achievement and wellbeing.
Candidate Profile
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
Experience teaching Humanities at secondary level is preferred.
Strong subject knowledge in at least one Humanities discipline.
Ability to engage and motivate students with diverse learning needs.
Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills.
Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Holds (or is willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS check and professional references.
