Laboratory Technician (Plymouth) – Fulltime An opportunity to work on our KierBAM JV project in Plymouth, delivering major redevelopment works within Devonport Royal Dockyard over the coming years. PAYE basis Paid Holidays: 30 days per year (including bank holidays) Must Have: • NVQ Level 2 Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities or equivalent. • CSCS Card. • Experience carrying out sampling and testing procedures within a laboratory or construction environment. • Ability to work in line with Standards and customer specifications. • Strong understanding of testing procedures and calibration requirements. • Experience recording and reporting test results accurately. • Ability to communicate clearly with site teams and management. • Good organisational and time management skills. • Ability to maintain detailed records and site diaries. • Proactive approach towards Health & Safety and compliance procedures. • Experience delivering daily and weekly work programmes. • Ability to provide support and training to other staff members. • Comprehensive range of experience demonstrated through CPD records and CV. • First Aid at Work desirable. • Technical Member of IOM³/ICE desirable. • Attendance at Technical Seminars and Workshops advantageous. • Must be eligible for BPSS Security Clearance. • Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years. This role is site based - Monday to Friday 42.5 hours per week 08:00am - 17:00pm Key Responsibilities: Carry out sampling and testing in line with required Standards and client specifications Ensure equipment used is calibrated and report any defects immediately Record and complete all test readings, results and documentation accurately Communicate clear instructions and technical information to site teams Provide clear and concise compliance data to project teams and clients Carry out testing procedures to demonstrate compliance requirements Support delivery of daily and weekly work programmes with site teams Provide advice and technical support to colleagues and project teams Assist with training staff in sampling and testing procedures Maintain detailed site diaries, CPD records and documentation Promote and maintain high standards of Health, Safety and Quality compliance Support the successful delivery of major infrastructure and defence projects Some Benefits: Pension Training and upskilling provided Safe working environment Life Insurance Secure regular income Lodge/Digs can be available.
