RCV Loader

Job Description: Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and experienced RCV Loader to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently loading refuse collection vehicles, ensuring smooth daily operations. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving, mechanical knowledge, and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities Load refuse containers onto RCVs (Refuse Collection Vehicles) in accordance with operational procedures Ensure all waste is securely loaded to prevent spillage during transit Conduct routine checks on vehicles and loading equipment to maintain safety standards Assist with vehicle inspections and basic mechanical tasks as needed Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding load status and any issues encountered Follow health and safety regulations at all times during loading operations Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the loading area Experience Previous experience in delivery driving or warehouse operations is highly desirable Proven commercial driving experience, including driving flatbed or similar vehicles Knowledge of mechanical systems related to commercial vehicles is advantageous Experience with flatbed or similar load types preferred Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively within a team Valid driver’s licence or equivalent is essential Delivery driver experience and warehouse experience are considered beneficial for this role Hours Minimum 40 hours per week Job and finish role Typical working week is between 48–52 hours Benefits Monthly bonus scheme available after 3 months of employment Overtime opportunities available Bank holiday premium payments Holiday entitlement increasing with length of service Cycle to work scheme Company pension Interest-free vehicle repair repayment scheme Full training provided Genuine progression opportunities into LGV Driver positions with funded training available Important Information Interviews and induction training will take place at our Head Office in Devizes.
