Job Description
We are looking for Wastewater Network Modellers (Assistant to Principal) to join our established team to deliver a variety of projects for several of the UK’s largest regulated water companies. You will provide support on hydraulic modelling studies for our core regulated industry water clients using industry‑standard software such as InfoWorks ICM/CS and other modelling tools. You will work within the existing team to interrogate and enhance models as well as build new models to assess and understand asset performance.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical input on urban drainage projects and support the wastewater team in delivering current and future projects, influencing future approaches to efficient delivery.
- Support the development of feasibility studies and optioneering.
- Use network models to evaluate and optimise asset performance.
- Prepare reports and supporting drawings.
- Define the work required by field investigation teams.
- Develop and maintain excellent client relationships, coordinating and facilitating project meetings internally and with clients.
- Contribute to the learning of the wider team through knowledge sharing exercises.
- Promote the WSP brand through appropriate industry forums and conferences.
Qualifications
- A degree in a relevant discipline (engineering, environmental science, geography).
- A chartered membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g., ICE/CIWEM) or being working towards chartership.
- Sound knowledge and experience in urban drainage modelling and an ability to check the technical outputs of others prior to issue.
- Extensive experience of hydraulic modelling using industry‑standard software, specifically InfoWorks ICM or similar.
- Familiarity with any industry‑standard geographical information system (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo).
