We succeed when all our people succeed.Your RoleAs a commercial finance analyst at Softcat, you will be responsible for using financial and operational data to report on and generate meaningful insights that inform decision-making.In this role, you will go beyond reporting performance — you will seek to understand why performance has occurred, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and contribute to recommendations on what should happen next.As a Commercial Finance analyst, you'll be responsible for:Produce structured analysis on performance across a range of variablesBuild and maintain recurring commercial finance reportsDevelop dashboard and KPI packs for leadership and operational teamsIdentify and implement improvements to existing reporting, helping to make outputs robust and repeatableSupport senior stakeholders by providing clear financial information to inform business performance discussions and decisionsBegin translating financial data into commercial recommendations, demonstrating sound judgement and resilience when challengedPrepare and present findings and insights in a clear manner to senior managementEnsure non-financial stakeholders understand what your analysis shows and that outputs are appropriate for the audience.We'd love you to haveQualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) is desirableThorough approach with high level of accuracy and numeracy; Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, with the ability to distil complex data into clear insights. Clear communication skills, with confidence presenting analysis to stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to build new analysis from first principles and improve existing work.We also acknowledge that the confidence gap and imposter syndrome are a real thing and can get in the way of us meeting fantastic talent, so please don't hesitate to apply – we would love to hear from you!Work in a way that works for youWe recognise that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too.
