Grounds Maintenance Team Leader
About the role
Job Summary
As a Grounds Maintenance Team Leader in Edinburgh you will supervise a small crew while actively contributing to grounds upkeep tasks. The role is permanent and offers a salary of £14-15 per hour with working hours Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 16:30.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a small team to provide various grounds maintenance services.
- Grass cutting using ride‑on and pedestrian mowers.
- Strimming, shrub and border maintenance, hedge cutting and litter picking.
- Ensure all tasks are completed to the required standard with a good eye for detail.
- Work independently and as part of a broader team, solving complex situations.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in grounds maintenance.
- At least two years in a supervisory or team leader capacity within grounds maintenance or a similar industry.
- Full valid UK driving licence (PA1 and PA6 licences are an advantage).
- Experience operating ride‑on mowers.
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Safety‑conscious mindset.
- Positive, energetic, enthusiastic and can‑do attitude.
