- SEN (Including SEMH & Behaviour Support) Location: Strood, Kent Start Date: May 2026 Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only Are you a compassionate, patient and resilient Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a child's education? We are seeking a dedicated TA to join our friendly primary school in Strood, Kent, supporting a pupil with Special Educational Needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and behaviour.
About the Role: In this rewarding role, you will work one-to-one with a child who requires consistent, structured and nurturing support to thrive in the classroom.
You will be part of a supportive staff team committed to creating a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored 1:1 support for a child with SEN, including SEMH and behaviour needs Implement individual support strategies and follow the child's personalised plan Help maintain a safe, calm and encouraging learning environment Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo and external professionals Build trusting relationships with the child to support their academic and personal development We Are Looking For Someone Who: Has experience supporting children with SEN, SEMH or behavioural needs (school-based experience desirable) Is calm, empathetic and proactive Can use their initiative and adapt to changing needs Communicates effectively with staff, pupils and families Is committed to helping children overcome barriers xwzovoh to learning What We Offer: A welcoming, supportive and dedicated school community Ongoing training and professional development The opportunity to make a significant impact in a child's school experience Competitive pay based on experience If you are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and want to be part of a nurturing and forward-thinking primary school, we would love to hear from you.
