About the role
Our client, a leading organisation in the rail sector, is currently seeking a Safety Manager to join their team for a contract position. This role is ideal for an experienced professional in safety management who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The position involves overseeing safety protocols and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing and implementing safety policies and procedures in accordance with rail industry standards
Conducting regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards
Providing safety training and education to staff and contractors
Investigating incidents and near-misses to determine root causes and implementing corrective actions
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of safety regulations and best practices within the rail industry
Collaborating with project managers and site supervisors to ensure safety measures are integrated into all operations
Preparing detailed safety reports and documentation
Promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement
Job Requirements:
Solid experience in safety management, particularly within the rail sector
Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements in rail
Proven ability to conduct comprehensive safety audits and risk assessments
In-depth knowledge of incident investigation and root cause analysis
Excellent communication and training skills
Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
Relevant qualifications in safety management or a related field
