About the role
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive SEN school in the Tamworth area for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.
The school supports pupils across 3 sites, working with children from Nursery through to Year 6, and is looking for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people with additional needs.
The ideal candidate will be available full-time; however, part-time applicants will also be considered for the right person.
The Role As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students with a range of special educational needs both inside and outside of the classroom. You will work closely with teaching staff to help create a safe, engaging and nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive.
This role will involve:
Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Assisting with classroom activities and learning interventions
Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional development
Supporting children with additional communication and sensory needs
Building strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff across all 3 sites
Helping to create a consistent and structured learning environmentThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience working with children, ideally within an SEN or school setting
A patient, caring and resilient attitude
Strong communication and teamwork skills
The ability to build trust and positive relationships with pupils
A calm and adaptable approach to challenging situations
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Commitment, consistency and reliability — these are essential qualities for this roleQualifications Required Applicants must hold a relevant qualification, such as:
Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
CACHE qualification
Childcare or Education-related qualification
