Maintenance Engineer / Technician – Mechanical & Electrical

Quest Employment is currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer / Technician with a strong mechanical and electrical background to work within a manufacturing environment based in Corby. We are looking for a skilled engineer who can carry out preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair equipment faults, and help ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience working with process equipment, strong fault-finding abilities, and a proactive approach to maintenance and minimising production downtime. Key Responsibilities: • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on process equipment • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control system faults • Responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimising production downtime • Conducting routine inspections to identify potential equipment failures • Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the site's maintenance management system • Working with pumps, valves, CIP systems and blending equipment • Maintaining pipework, transfer systems and compressed air systems • Working with process instrumentation and PLC-controlled equipment • Following site health and safety procedures at all times • Supporting continuous improvement and maintaining reliable equipment performance The Ideal Candidate: • Recognised engineering qualification or completed apprenticeship • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent qualification • Previous experience in food, beverage, dairy or FMCG manufacturing • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills • Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment • Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and procedures • Experience working with process equipment and industrial machinery • Reliable, proactive and organised • Able to work independently and as part of a team • Committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety Why Apply? • Competitive salary of £37,000 – £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience • Monday to Friday working pattern • 8-hour shifts • Opportunity to apply your engineering skills in a manufacturing environment • Varied responsibilities across mechanical and electrical maintenance
