Refrigeration Engineer

Carter Synergy are a national provider of refrigeration, mechanical, electrical and core building services. With one of the largest and most experienced service teams in the industry, we are leaders in delivering reactive service and preventative maintenance contracts across the United Kingdom.

We are looking for experienced and motivated Refrigeration Engineer to join our growing team, working across multiple supermarket retail sites within their designated region.

In this role, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing commercial refrigeration systems, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified engineer with previous supermarket refrigeration experience looking to further develop their career within a supportive and established engineering company.

Salary: £45,828 + OTE

Hours: 42.5 hours

Location: Liverpool / Lancashire

Key Responsibilities:

* Carry out reactive maintenance, fault finding and repairs on supermarket refrigeration equipment, including packs and display cabinets.

* Diagnose and resolve technical faults to ensure equipment operates efficiently.

* Undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM) when required.

* Participate in the standby/on-call rota (core working hours are Monday – Friday 42.5 hours per week)

* Ensure work is completed to agreed performance standards and KPIs.

* Maintain accurate service records and complete PDA updates and paperwork on time.

What We Are Looking For:

* Qualified Refrigeration Engineer with a valid City & Guilds 2079 F-Gas qualification

* Previous experience working with supermarket/retail refrigeration systems.

* CO₂ and hydrocarbon refrigeration experience (desirable).

* SPA Card.

* Full UK driving licence.

* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
