We are partnering with a fast-growing, private equity-backed FinTech business seeking an experienced Interim Head of FP&A to join on an initial 4-month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this role requires a highly commercial finance leader who can quickly establish credibility with the Executive Team and drive improvements across planning, forecasting, reporting, and business performance. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of operating within private equity-backed businesses and understand the pace, reporting requirements, and value creation focus associated with PE ownership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the FP&A function, owning budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning process
  • Partner with the CFO, CEO, and SLT to provide commercial insight and support key business decisions
  • Analyse revenue performance, variable margins, and client profitability to identify opportunities for growth and optimisation
  • Enhance management reporting, KPI frameworks, and board reporting
  • Deliver robust scenario planning and financial modelling to support strategic initiatives
  • Build and improve FP&A processes, controls, and governance
  • Lead the implementation and optimisation of FP&A systems and reporting tools
  • Support the wider finance function through a period of transformation and growth

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Head of FP&A, FP&A Director, or equivalent senior FP&A leadership
  • Experience within a private equity-backed business is essential
  • Strong FinTech, Financial Services, Payments, Lending, or related sector background
  • Proven experience analysing variable-margin business models and customer profitability
  • Demonstrated success building or transforming FP&A functions and implementing finance systems
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience partnering at CEO, CFO, Board, and SLT levels
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
