About the role
Job Summary
The Wood Laminate Picker is responsible for accurately selecting, collecting, and preparing wood laminate products for customer orders and production requirements within a warehouse or distribution environment. The role involves working safely and efficiently to ensure products are picked correctly, quality standards are maintained, and dispatch deadlines are met.
Key Responsibilities
Pick wood laminate boards, panels, flooring, and related materials according to picking lists and customer orders.
Verify product specifications, quantities, dimensions, colours, and batch numbers before dispatch.
Safely handle laminate products to prevent damage during picking and transportation.
Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet trucks, hand scanners, and forklifts (where licensed and authorised).
Package, label, and prepare orders for shipment.
Conduct quality checks to ensure products meet company standards.
Assist with stock replenishment and inventory control activities.
Maintain accurate records using warehouse management systems (WMS) and handheld scanning devices.
Load and unload deliveries as required.
Keep work areas clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Report stock discrepancies, damaged goods, and equipment issues to supervisors.
Skills and Experience
Essential
Previous experience in a warehouse, picking, packing, or manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and follow pick sheets and work instructions.
Good attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills.
Forklift Truck License - Counterbalance
Desirable
Experience handling wood, laminate, flooring, or building materials.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems and barcode scanning equipment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move heavy products safely in line with manual handling guidelines.
Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the working day.
Capable of working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
