Employment Locum

Job Description Employment Locum /n Sellick Partnership is currently recruiting an experienced Locum Employment Lawyer on behalf of one of our long-standing clients for an initial 3-6 month assignment. /n You will provide high-quality legal advice and representation to public sector clients, including local authorities and schools. /n Duties will include: /n /n - Providing specialist, practical and commercially focused advice on contentious and non-contentious employment matters. /n - Managing a varied and complex caseload, including Employment Tribunal claims and wider litigation. /n - Undertaking advocacy and representing clients in tribunals, negotiations and meetings. /n - Advising senior officers, elected members, committees and schools where required. /n - Conducting legal research and providing clear, well-reasoned advice on complex issues. /n - Managing risk, instructing external counsel/solicitors where appropriate and ensuring effective case progression. /n - Delivering legal briefings and training to clients and contributing to service development. /n /n Person specification: /n We are looking for a qualified solicitor, barrister or Chartered Legal Executive with appropriate litigation and advocacy rights with strong experience within employment law. /n Experience of working within a local authority or other public sector environment would be advantageous. /n The client is open to both hybrid and full-remote working. /n If you feel you have the necessary skills and experience for this role, please apply now or contact Natalie Ferguson in our Manchester office for more information. /n /n Sellick Partnership is proud to be an inclusive and accessible recruitment business and we support applications from candidates of all backgrounds and circumstances.
