Mobile Plant Operator (Telehandler & Loading Shovel)

Location: Nantycaws, SA32 8BG
Pay Rate: £13.50 per hour
Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:00 (future shift pattern 06:00–14:00)

We are currently recruiting for a Mobile Plant Operator to join a busy Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) in Carmarthen.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operator looking for stable, full-time work within the recycling and waste management sector. You will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of recyclable materials throughout the facility while supporting daily plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate telehandlers and loading shovels safely and efficiently within the MRF
• Load and feed recyclable materials into processing equipment and storage bays
• Move baled recyclables and bulk materials around the site
• Carry out daily machine inspections, defect reporting, and basic maintenance checks
• Ensure safe segregation and handling of recyclable waste streams
• Maintain cleanliness of tipping halls, bays, and operational areas
• Work closely with plant operatives and supervisors to maintain continuous plant operation
• Follow all site health & safety procedures, environmental regulations, and traffic management systems

Requirements

• Previous experience operating telehandlers and/or loading shovels
• Valid Telehandler and/or Loading Shovel licence (in-house licences accepted)
• Good awareness of health & safety procedures
• Reliable and professional approach to work
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
