An award-winning insurance company is recruiting a Head of Underwriting to join its function, managing a small team and helping develop and grow the function from the ground up. As part of an established underwriting team, this position reports to the Head of Underwriting globally, and will have senior management responsibilities.

Additional information and requirements

• Sitting in a Team of 10 Underwriters working across M&A and Title, this position is a Senior role with a W&I focus
• Leading and managing the underwriting process, including: analysis and assessment of broker submissions; preparing quotes for deals (in line with our underwriting appetite and guidelines); review and analysis of transaction documentation, due diligence reports and disclosure documentation
• Instructing and liaising with external legal counsel; drafting underwriting questions and hosting underwriting calls; and drafting and negotiating policy coverage and terms
• monitoring and managing status of accounts, financial exposure and premium collection; maintaining compliance with all internal and external underwriting guidelines and legal requirements
• Varied role with a collaborative team, working across financial lines with an established and award-winning team
• Based in the London (City) xwzovoh office 3-days per week

Experience required

• Ideally seeking someone with 3+ years of experience in Underwriting, ideally with 5+ years dedicated to W&I
• Seeking someone with a book of clients they can bring with them
• Will consider a qualified lawyer with significant exposure to W&I Underwriting
• Management or mentoring experience preferred
