Behaviour Support Assistant – Salford Location: Salford Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday Start date: ASAP Pay: Competitive daily rate Could you be the positive influence a child needs? Cover People are looking for a confident, energetic and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Salford. This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine difference to pupils who need additional support with their behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement in learning. No two days will be the same! You’ll build positive relationships, celebrate progress and help pupils overcome the barriers preventing them from reaching their potential. What will you be doing? Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups Helping children manage their emotions and make positive choices Using effective behaviour-management and de-escalation strategies Encouraging pupils to engage confidently with their learning Providing consistent expectations, routines and boundaries Supporting pupils during lessons, transitions and breaktimes Working alongside teachers, SEND staff and pastoral leaders Celebrating every success—however big or small! We would love to hear from you if you are: Calm, confident and resilient under pressure Patient, proactive and able to build strong relationships Comfortable supporting pupils with challenging behaviour Passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable children Consistent in your approach while remaining compassionate A strong team player with excellent communication skills Experience within schools, SEND, SEMH, youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, care or residential settings would be highly valuable.
