About the role

Salt Recruitment is recruiting a Platform Engineer to join a local authority's ICT team, supporting a complex infrastructure environment spanning more than 1,000 servers and 10,000 users.

Reporting to the Platform Manager and working alongside technical leads, you will administer, maintain and secure core infrastructure across Windows, Linux, VMware and Microsoft Azure. You will support reliable day-to-day operations, investigate incidents and problems, and deliver installations, upgrades and preventative maintenance.

The role involves close collaboration with internal ICT teams, public sector partners and external suppliers to maintain service availability, manage technical risks and support changing business needs.
