About the role

Job DescriptionThe Project Manager is responsible for the timely and effective delivery of technology led projects, in support of AJ Bell’s strategic objectives.   The role is for a Project Manager to deliver projects through the entire delivery life cycle; from project entry through to go-live and post implementation. Projects are undertaken primarily to deliver technology driven change in support of the evolving technology landscape however given the wider financial backdrop experience of delivering IT change in a financially regulated environment would be an advantage.What does the job involve?Managing the delivery of multiple technology led projects and initiativesDelivering complex IT projects often working with third party suppliers to implement a hybrid of internal and external solutionsEstablishing and maintaining effective and trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and external third-party suppliersCo-ordinating and driving the collaboration of project resources to get the best from project teamsDefining scope and production of project plans with responsibility for leading and managing the project team to these plansProducing resource forecasts and budgets and monitoring progress against these. Where change is required, following appropriate change control proceduresRegularly reporting on the status and health of projects to sponsors and wider stakeholders at all levels of the organisationEffectively managing project risks, issues and dependencies, and assessing for any potential risk to consumer outcomes posed by the projectEnsure that all duties are carried out with the aim of protecting customers and improving customer experience Supporting and enabling the business to achieve its regulatory requirements, including consumer dutyCompetence, knowledge and skillsStrong technical knowledge and experience gained from a technology backgroundAn ability to quickly understand technical topicsIdeally PRINCE2 Practitioner certificationIdeally experience of IT development methodologies e.g. Agile, SDLCExperience of delivering in a financially regulated environment desirableFinancial services industry knowledge, e.g. pensions, investments and stockbroking, would be beneficialStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to build and manage effective relationshipsGood business/commercial knowledgeAnalytical skills/problem solvingStrong planning and organisational skillsHigh attention to detailAbout AJ BellAt AJ Bell, we believe investing should feel good.
