Bookkeeper

Bookkeeper Location: Bury Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 (dependent on experience) Hours: Monday to Friday, flexible start/finish between 8:00am – 5:00pm Are you a detail-oriented Bookkeeper seeking a fresh challenge? Do you thrive in a client-facing role where no two days are the same? Due to ongoing business growth, my client is looking to appoint a capable and proactive Bookkeeper to join their established team in Bury. This position will see you taking ownership of a varied portfolio of clients, ensuring all financial records are maintained with accuracy and professionalism. Key Responsibilities: Overseeing purchase and sales ledgers, including the preparation and posting of invoices using Sage and Xero Managing sales and purchase order processing Completing bank reconciliations on a regular basis Preparing and submitting VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements Working to strict deadlines and maintaining compliance standards Handling multi-currency transactions, multiple bank accounts, and CIS processes (advantageous) Assisting with accounts preparation to trial balance stage (desirable) Maintaining organised financial records and supporting general office/accounting tasks About You: AAT qualified (or equivalent experience) At least 3 years’ experience in a similar bookkeeping role Highly organised with strong attention to detail Comfortable managing multiple client accounts simultaneously Confident communicator with a professional and approachable manner Experienced in using Sage and/or Xero This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys building strong client relationships and delivering a reliable, end-to-end bookkeeping service within a supportive and growing environment.
