Are you a Health & Safety professional with strong CDM experience looking for a role where you can have a genuine impact across a varied portfolio of construction and facilities projects?
This is an opportunity to join a growing safety team within a major international defence organisation, supporting projects across a UK-wide estate. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, Facilities teams, contractors and senior stakeholders, providing practical guidance and helping ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with current legislation.
The role offers plenty of variety, with no two projects necessarily looking the same.
What you’ll be doing
- Provide practical CDM 2015 and construction safety advice across a diverse project portfolio.
- Support the Principal Designer function for smaller construction works.
- Carry out site inspections and assess contractor compliance.
- Work directly with project teams and contractors to identify and manage safety risks.
- Support accident and incident investigations where required.
- Contribute to internal and external audits.
- Monitor contractor performance and produce relevant compliance reporting.
- Help develop and improve safety processes, procedures and working practices.
- Provide safety support across multiple UK sites, including regular travel to Bristol and Bolton.
What you’ll bring
- NEBOSH Diploma or Level 6 Health & Safety qualification.
- IOSH membership with an active CPD record.
- Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 and the Principal Designer role.
- Experience within construction, facilities, engineering or a similar project-led environment.
- Confidence working with contractors and challenging unsafe or non-compliant practices.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.
- A proactive, practical approach to Health & Safety rather than simply a compliance-focused mindset.
- IMaPS or CMAPS experience would be beneficial.
The package
- Circa £52,000 salary, depending on experience.
- Bonus and benefits package.
- 2-year fixed-term contract.
- 3 to 4 days per week on-site.
- Stevenage as the primary location, with regular UK travel.
- Opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of construction and facilities projects within a highly technical defence environment.
If you’re looking for a role where your CDM and construction safety expertise can influence projects from the ground up, this could be an excellent opportunity to join a growing team and take on a genuinely varied UK-wide remit. xwzovoh
