Job summaryApplications are invited for a substantive Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with a dedicated focus on Labour Ward Leadership. Main duties of the jobMain duties of the job
As the Labour Ward Lead, the appointed consultant will oversee the daily operations of the obstetric unit during allocated hot weeks. During this period, the consultant will deliver direct, consultant-led care across the unit, with other clinical duties temporarily suspended to ensure a dedicated focus on obstetric care. Emergency gynaecology cover during these weeks will be provided by a separate consultant.
The role also encompasses responsibility for the development and enhancement of the simulation training program. This includes designing and delivering multidisciplinary simulation sessions aimed at improving clinical outcomes and fostering cohesive team performance in high-risk obstetric scenarios.

All other candidates must already be on the GMC Specialist Register. Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC*DesirableFurther higher degree (depends on post)
