Multi-Trade Operative - Social Housing Location: Portsmouth & Surrounding Areas (Mobile / Field-Based with occasional travel up to London) Pay Rate: Up to £20.00 per hour (CIS) Hours: Standard 40 hours per week (Overtime available up to 50-55 hours per week) Benefits: Company Van & Fuel Card provided Ongoing contract Temp - Perm Available About the Role We are seeking an experienced and reliable Multi-Trade Operative to join our busy property maintenance team. Operating primarily across Portsmouth and surrounding areas, with occasional travel into London, you will be delivering high-quality reactive maintenance, repairs, and void property refurbishments across social housing contracts. This position offers excellent earning potential with regular overtime available for tradespeople looking to max out their hours. Key Responsibilities Carry out day-to-day reactive repairs, planned maintenance, and void works within social housing properties. Execute multi-trade tasks including 2nd fix carpentry, basic plumbing, tiling, patch plastering, painting, and general handyman repairs. Diagnose faults and deliver clean, efficient, first-time fixes to high standards. Complete daily job sheets and maintain clear communication with contract managers and residents. Drive to various sites across Portsmouth, surrounding areas, and London while maintaining a clean, stocked company vehicle. Requirements & Qualifications Experience: Proven track record working as a Multi-Trader within social housing, local authority, or residential maintenance sectors. Core Skills: Competent across multiple primary trades (Carpentry, Plumbing, Tiling, Painting/Decorating, Patching). Licence: Full UK Driving Licence (essential for van usage). Compliance: Relevant CSCS Card, Asbestos Awareness, and basic hand/power tools. Attributes: Self-motivated, punctual, customer-focused, and comfortable with travel when required. Pay & Benefits Hourly Rate: Up to £20.00/hr paid via CIS. High Earning Potential: Optional overtime structure allowing you to work up to 50-55 hours per week. Vehicle: Dedicated company van and fuel card provided
