Senior Structural Engineer

An established and growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to join its Shoreditch office. This is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced structural engineer who wants to take ownership of complex projects, lead talented technical teams and play an influential role in the continued growth of a successful London operation.You’ll work within an experienced structural engineering team, leading projects from concept through to completion across sectors including commercial, residential, mixed-use, education, healthcare and infrastructure. Alongside delivering technically challenging work, you’ll have the opportunity to manage and mentor engineers and technicians, build relationships with clients, architects and contractors, and contribute to business development and the strategic direction of the team. You’ll need the confidence to lead multidisciplinary projects, support the development of others and maintain high standards across design, quality, programme and commercial performance.What’s On OfferFlexible working to support a better balance between professional and personal commitments.Private medical insurance and access to an Employee Assistance Programme.Enhanced annual leave beyond the standard entitlement.Professional membership fees paid, supporting your continued professional standing.A strong commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and ongoing career progression.The opportunity to take a visible leadership role within a growing structural engineering team.Genuine involvement in business development, client relationships and the future growth of the London operation.What You Need To SucceedMinimum five years’ structural engineering experience gained within a UK consultancy environment.Proven experience leading structural engineering projects from concept through to completion, including multidisciplinary coordination.Strong technical knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards, UK Building Regulations and CDM Regulations.Design experience across materials including reinforced concrete, structural steel, timber and masonry.Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring engineers, graduates and CAD/BIM technicians.Commercial awareness, including experience managing project budgets, resources, risks and fee proposals, alongside developing client relationships.Experience with relevant structural and design software, which may include Tekla Structural Designer, SCIA Engineer, Tedds, MasterSeries, AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.Chartered Engineer status with the IStructE/ICE, or close to achieving it, is desirable.A strong academic background with a BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.
