Camino Search is partnering with a PE-backed professional services platform in the South East (c.£40m revenue, healthy EBITDA, clear exit plan) to appoint a CFO who can upgrade the engine room and get the business truly exit-ready

This is not a steady-state finance role. The business has completed several acquisitions and now needs a CFO who can integrate, improve and lead through a sell-side process.

The opportunity

• 12-24 month exit horizon with an engaged Chair and commercially sharp CEO.

• The CFO sits at the centre of the equity story: shaping the numbers, the narrative and the diligence experience.

What you'll do

• Build robust reporting infrastructure and improve data quality across the group, including acquired entities.
• Implement disciplined forecasting and forward-looking KPIs, including utilisation, margin by service line, revenue per FTE and cash conversion.
• Drive EBITDA visibility and performance tracking at group, business unit and acquisition level.
• Tighten cash management and working capital, including billing, WIP, debtor days and supplier terms.
• Lead integration of bolt-on acquisitions across systems, controls, reporting packs and performance cadence.
• Own all financial workstreams for exit, including data room readiness, QofE support, buyer and lender engagement, and board materials.

What you've done

• Been CFO in a PE-backed B2B or professional services / people-based business.
• Built finance functions and operational rigour from the ground up, not just inherited mature environments.
• Supported integrations or a buy-and-build / platform strategy and made acquired businesses feel like one group.
• Led a full sell-side process and are comfortable under diligence scrutiny with buyers, lenders and advisors.
• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong command of cash, KPIs and board-level communication.

Location: South East UK, typically 3-4 days per week in the office
