About the role
Education Solicitor (Partner), 8+ Years PQE, Cheltenham, £Highly competitive (DOE) – This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer who is passionate about the education sector and keen to play a leading role in the continued development of a well‑established national practice. REF:4526.
THE ROLE
- As a Partner, you will lead on a wide variety of strategic and corporate matters for education clients, with a particular focus on independent schools and education groups.
- You will provide commercially focused advice while building long‑term relationships with clients and helping to shape the future direction of the practice.
- Advising on acquisitions, disposals and mergers involving independent schools and education businesses.
- Leading on reorganisations, collaborations and strategic projects designed to strengthen and future‑prove educational institutions.
- Advising charities and education organisations on corporate restructuring and transformation.
- Working closely with colleagues across employment, property, regulatory and dispute resolution teams to deliver a seamless service.
- Developing and strengthening client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser to senior decision‑makers.
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, while enhancing the firm’s profile within the education sector.
- Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers, supporting their technical and professional development.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Education Solicitor with a minimum of 8 Years PQE.
- Experience operating at Partner or Legal Director level, or a strong track record demonstrating readiness for Partnership.
- Interest in or experience advising education, charity or not‑for‑profit organisations.
- Proven experience leading complex transactions and managing sophisticated client relationships.
- A strong business development mindset with the confidence to build networks and generate new opportunities.
- Excellent technical and drafting skills, combined with practical, solution‑focused advice.
- The ability to inspire, mentor and develop colleagues while contributing positively to a collaborative team culture.
