Environmental Health Officer - Private Sector Housing Dorset £50-£60 per hour 6-Month Contract I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Environmental Health Officer / Private Sector Housing Officer to join a Local Authority in Dorset on an initial 6-month contract, paying £50-£60 per hour depending on experience. The role will involve managing a varied Private Sector Housing caseload, including inspections, enforcement, housing standards and HMO work. Key Responsibilities Investigating housing disrepair cases Carrying out HHSRS inspections and assessing Category 1 and 2 hazards Taking enforcement action, including CPNs Preparing notices and schedules of works Inspecting and licensing HMOs Identifying unlicensed licensable properties Advising tenants, landlords and managing agents Managing cases through from inspection to resolution What You'll Need A recognised Environmental Health degree / qualification Minimum 2 years' Private Sector Housing experience within a Local Authority Strong knowledge of the Housing Act 2004 and HHSRS Experience of housing enforcement, disrepair and HMO licensing Ability to commit to 2-3 days per week on site in Dorset Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle CIEH membership preferred Contract Details Rate: £50-£60 per hour DOE Contract: Initial 6 months Location: Dorset Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2-3 days on site If you're currently looking for Environmental Health Officer jobs, EHO jobs, Private Sector Housing Officer jobs or Environmental Health jobs in Dorset, please get in touch to discuss the opportunity.
