SHES Manager (Assurance)

We focus on employee development, providing a culture of innovation and positive work-life balance.Lead the development, delivery and continuous improvement of Murphy’s assurance programme, ensuring robust, consistent and value-adding audits that support compliance, manage risk and drive improvement across the business.A day in the life of a Murphy SHES Manager (Assurance) Lead the development, coordination and continual improvement of the Murphy Group Management Audit ProgrammeDevelop, agree and maintain audit and SPAR schedules, ensuring alignment with business priorities and risksLead the planning, facilitation and delivery of internal audits, SPARs and assurance reviewsOversee audit preparation activities including agenda setting, stakeholder engagement and readiness reviewsEnsure audit findings are robust, evidence-based and consistently gradedReview and assure the quality of audit reports across the business (“check the checkers”), ensuring consistency in standards and approachSupport the development and continual improvement of audit checklists, templates and assurance toolsOversee the management of audit actions, ensuring they are captured, tracked and closed out within agreed timeframesMonitor action trends, recurring issues and systemic risksProvide regular updates and reports to senior leadership, highlighting key risks, trends and performanceLead the planning and coordination of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification and surveillance auditsAct as the primary interface with external auditors, coordinating schedules, site visits and logisticsEngage with internal auditors and stakeholders to ensure understanding of audit standards, expectations and methodologiesFacilitate introductory sessions, briefings and audit close-out discussions with site and project teamsSupport Joint Ventures and international operations with assurance, audits and certification requirements, where required.Support the development of internal auditor capability, including guidance on audit delivery and root cause analysisIdentify and drive continuous improvement in assurance processes, tools and outputsSupport the development and rollout of digital assurance tools and systemsProvide direction and oversight to audit resources and support roles involved in assurance activitiesSupport the Head of SHES (Systems and Assurance) with broader systems, assurance and improvement initiativesMonitor compliance with audit schedules across Business Units, ensuring audits are completed in line with agreed programmesTrack and report on assurance performance, including completion rates, trends and key risks•    Assist with accident/incident investigations in accordance with the Company procedure and, analysing all data, making recommendations to avoid any reoccurrences.Assist in the preparation & review of project SHES documents including those of 3rd parties. Maintain records as necessary to ensure compliance with Legislation, Company procedures and Contract Requirements.Still interested, does this sound like you?Internal auditor training or Lead auditor training for all/either of the following standards: ISO 9001, 14001 and/or 45001Solid understanding of the requirements of the ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards.    NEBOSH Diploma or NEBOSH General/Construction CertificateExperience in a Construction Auditing / Assurance role (preferable managerial position)        In depth SharePoint user & build knowledge    Strong data skills: validation, cleansing, dashboard/report building (Excel/Power BI).    Confident communicator and trainer—able to support site teams and office users.    In depth Microsoft package knowledge (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, MS Project)What’s in it for you?27 days holiday, plus bank holidays with the option to buy an additional 2 days holiday each year, holidays increase with length of serviceDiscretionary annual bonus and annual salary reviewAbove market rate contributory pension schemeLife assurance, health screening and enhanced sick payEnhanced maternity and paternity pay and a maternity returners bonusExtra weeks holiday for all employees getting married and a wedding bonusSubsidised canteen facilities in core locationsDedicated and continued investment in your professional developmentOther Murphy benefits include retail discounts and cashback, discounted gym memberships, cycle to work scheme etcAbout Murphy Murphy is formally recognised as a sector leading employer, Platinum Investors In People accredited along with reported operating profit up 57% on prior year.
