LEAD SOFTWARE ENGINEER – C# / .NET

£70k - £75k DOE

About the Role
You’ll be working on modern, scalable software across C#/.NET, AWS, APIs, event-driven architecture and distributed systems, with genuine scope to influence how the platform evolves. The business is also embracing AI-assisted engineering, giving developers access to modern tools and approaches to build better software, faster.
Responsibilities
- Act as a Technical lead, Mentoring other Engineers and performing code Reviews
- Build and maintain production software using C# and .NET.
- Develop backend services, APIs and event-driven applications.
- Work with PostgreSQL and AWS cloud technologies.
- Contribute to microservices, integrations and distributed systems.
- Support UI development using Blazor where required.
- Write automated tests and participate in peer code reviews.
- Troubleshoot issues and support production systems.
- Translate requirements into technical tasks and contribute to delivery estimates.
- Use AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot, as part of the development process.
Qualifications
- Commercial Software Engineering experience with C# and .NET
- Experience working as a Senior/Lead engineer acting as a technical Lead
- Experience building backend services and REST APIs.
- Understanding of event-driven, asynchronous or service-based architectures.
- Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Experience with automated testing, source control and code reviews.
- Ability to work from technical documentation and requirements.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools.
Required Skills

- Blazor / MudBlazor.
- CI/CD.
- Docker.
- Observability, logging and monitoring.
- Secure coding and resilient application development.
