Your new company

A leading global insurer is seeking a Capital Analyst to join its Capital Modelling team, supporting both Health and General Insurance lines of business. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified actuary to join a highly regarded actuarial function and play a key role in helping the business understand, manage and optimise its capital position.

Working within a collaborative team of actuarial, risk and finance professionals, you will contribute to the ongoing development of the Internal Model and support strategic decision-making across the organisation. The role offers broad exposure to capital management, solvency assessment, risk modelling and regulatory requirements, making it an ideal opportunity for someone looking to further develop their actuarial career within a large and complex insurance environment.

Your new role

As a Capital Analyst, you will support the production and analysis of capital assessments and solvency requirements across the business. Working closely with the wider Capital Modelling team, you will assist with the calibration, development, maintenance and validation of the Internal Model, ensuring it remains fit for purpose and aligned with regulatory expectations.

You will contribute to the development of insurance risk assumptions, support ORSA and other capital-related processes, and help assess the impact of evolving business and regulatory requirements on the model. The role will also involve analysing reinsurance arrangements, supporting risk management activities and delivering actuarial analysis to inform strategic business decisions.

This position offers significant interaction with stakeholders across actuarial, risk and finance functions, providing excellent exposure to senior decision-makers and a broad range of capital modelling activities.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Progression through the IFoA actuarial exams.
  • Previous experience within a General Insurance and/or Health Insurance environment.
  • Strong mathematical, statistical and analytical capabilities.
  • An understanding of insurance risk and capital modelling principles.
  • Experience delivering actuarial analysis and communicating technical findings to a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong Excel and modelling skills, with exposure to actuarial modelling software such as ReMetrica being advantageous but not essential.
  • A proactive approach to learning and professional development.
  • The ability to work collaboratively across actuarial, risk and finance teams.

Exposure to Internal Models, Solvency II, ORSA processes or capital management activities would be highly beneficial.

What you'll get in return

In return, you will have the opportunity to join a well-established insurer with a strong actuarial and capital management function, where you will gain exposure to a wide range of strategic and technical projects.

You will work alongside experienced actuarial professionals in a supportive environment that encourages ongoing learning, professional qualification and career development. The role offers excellent exposure to capital modelling, risk management and regulatory frameworks, providing a strong platform for progression within the actuarial profession.
