Working within our Housing and Assets service, you will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage significant capital and revenue budgets, and ensure the Council meets its statutory obligations relating to fire safety, regulatory compliance and asset management. As Team Manager, you will:Lead the delivery of fire remediation, compliance and building safety programmes across a diverse property portfolio.Manage Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) programmes, remedial works and compliance monitoring systems.Oversee project planning, design and construction activities, ensuring delivery to time, cost and quality standards.Provide strategic leadership to multidisciplinary teams comprising professional, technical, administrative and contractor resources.Act as the Council's lead contact for contractors, consultants, community representatives and key stakeholders.Monitor and manage substantial capital and revenue budgets.Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, guidance and industry standards relating to fire safety and building regulations.Support service improvement, innovation and sustainability initiatives across the Housing and Assets service. We are looking for an experienced leader with substantial knowledge of fire safety, building compliance and asset management. You will have:Significant experience of leading large, complex teams within asset management, construction, property services or a related environment.Extensive knowledge of property construction, maintenance, building safety and facilities management.Experience of managing large budgets, capital programmes and regulatory compliance frameworks.A Level 5 qualification (or equivalent) in Built Environment, Surveying, Fire Safety Management or a related discipline.Membership of an appropriate professional body with ongoing commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD).Strong knowledge of Fire Risk Assessment processes, PAS 79 standards, Building Regulations, Approved Document B and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order.Excellent stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leaders, elected members and external partners.Additional fire safety qualifications such as VRQ Level 4 Fire Safety Management and City & Guilds accredited qualifications Additional InformationDBS check required.Full driving licence required & business-use vehicle insurance required.Participation in an out-of-hours operational rota is essential.If you have the leadership experience, technical expertise and passion to drive building safety and fire remediation programmes that protect our residents and assets, we would love to hear from you.Workplace Attendance: Working in the office 3+ days a week (pro-rata)So that we can demonstrate Dudley’s commitment to diversity and inclusion and to improve bias in the recruitment process that could create barriers for candidates.
