Podiatrist

Role Overview

You will have excellent communication skills and a passion for the role and improving patient care. When working clinically we expect you to perform with passion and drive, provide clinically excellent care, and be supportive to patients, relatives, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Plan treatment for foot complications associated with high risk co-morbidities such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and vascular/ischaemic long-term conditions.
• Join the foot protection team treating foot ulceration in the community.
• Take part in nail surgery, biomechanical clinics and associated orthoses manufacture.
• Participate in ulcer clinics and shadow/rotate into the consultant‑led diabetic foot clinic at the local hospital during preceptorship.
• Travel for domiciliary visits and to various clinic locations across West Cheshire, a key part of the role.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Podiatry.
• Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council.
• Certificate in Local Anaesthesia.
• Understanding of podiatry provision process.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
• Adherence to the Code of Ethics and Professional Standards of Practice of the Health & Care Professions Council.
• Evidence of balanced experience in placement.
• Team working and reflective practice skills.
• Appropriate UK professional registration.
