Hays are partnering with a well-established and growing accountancy and advisory firm with a strong reputation across the West Midlands. Due to continued growth, the firm is looking to appoint a new or experienced Tax Advisory Manager to join its highly regarded tax team.

You'll act as a trusted adviser to a diverse client base, providing strategic tax advice, managing complex queries and identifying opportunities to add value. Working closely with senior leadership, you'll help shape the direction of client engagements while supporting the continued development of the tax department.

This is a client-facing advisory position offering a varied portfolio, a healthy balance of autonomy and support and the opportunity to make a real impact both internally and externally.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering corporate/OMB tax advisory support across a varied client portfolio.
• Acting as a primary point of contact for clients and building long-term trusted relationships.
• Preparing and reviewing high-quality technical reports and advisory work.
• Leading, mentoring and developing members of the tax team.
• Identifying opportunities to provide additional services and support business growth.
• Managing workflow, deadlines, WIP and billing across your portfolio.
• Supporting departmental improvements, projects and process development.
• Collaborating with colleagues across the wider business to deliver an exceptional client experience.
• Keeping abreast of tax legislation and advising clients on emerging opportunities and risks.

This role would particularly suit someone looking to move into a broader advisory-focused position with greater client ownership and visibility within the business.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

• CTA qualification, equivalent tax qualification, or be qualified by experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of corporate/OMB taxation with advisory experience.
• Previous experience managing, coaching or mentoring team members.
• Experience working within an accountancy practice or professional services environment.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for clients.
• A genuine interest in developing both clients and people.
