We are working with a leading FMCG food manufacturing business who are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join their growing engineering team. The successful Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the Engineering Department, reporting directly into the Head of Engineering. You will lead a team and play a key role in driving performance, reliability, and continuous improvement across the site.
Maintenance Manager key responsibilities include:
·Leading, managing, and developing a team of up to 6 direct reports and 10 indirect reports, including contractors
·Overseeing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and their effective implementation
·Managing contractors on site and ensuring compliance with site standards
·Allocation and prioritisation of workloads across the engineering team
·First and second line management responsibilities
·Conducting performance reviews and staff appraisals
·Driving KPI performance including maintenance delivery, health & safety, quality, and waste reduction
·Providing strong technical leadership with a proactive approach to equipment reliability and failure prevention
·Supporting and delivering engineering projects across the site
Essentials for the Maintenance Manager:
·Electrically biased engineer with a recognised apprenticeship background
·Strong experience within FMCG, food production, or process manufacturing environments
·Proven leadership and man management experience
·Strong understanding of PPM systems and reliability engineering
·Excellent problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach
·Strong knowledge of health & safety and compliance standards
·Right to work in the UK
