Probation Officer LOCATION: HMP Parc, Bridgend, Wales HOURS: 18.5 hours per week PAY RATE: £28.63 limited per hour (Umbrella pay rate) or £20.30 per hour PAYE rate Full Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Probation Officer to join the team at HMP Parc for a 12-month assignment. This is a fantastic contract opportunity to contribute to the criminal justice system while working within a secure prison environment. Depending on the role, work may include: Conduct OASys assessments to support offender rehabilitation plans Perform general Probation Officer duties within a high-security prison setting Manage casework, ensuring compliance with all statutory and institutional policies Work closely with prison staff and external agencies to facilitate successful offender management Maintain thorough documentation and provide detailed reports for ongoing case reviews Support offender rehabilitation and risk management initiatives The job holder is expected to accept reasonable alterations and additional tasks of a similar level that may be necessary.Essential Requirements Proven experience as a Probation Officer or in a similar role within the last 5 years. Comprehensive knowledge and experience of OASys assessment procedures and risk management tools. Ability to work effectively within a secure prison environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain thorough documentation and write detailed reports.
