Technical Specialist (Automotive)

Job Title: Technical Specialist Location: Groundwell Industrial Estate, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN25 5AB. BGA is the aftermarket division of the British Gaskets Group, a global leader in original equipment gasket and engine component manufacturing supplying many of the world’s top vehicle and industrial manufacturers. Based in Swindon, with excellent transport links along the M4 corridor, BGA ensures quality and reliability in every product. As we expand into engine management components, we’re seeking a skilled Technical Specialist to join our team. This role is perfect for a Vehicle Technician or Automotive Engineer with the following expertise: Essential: * Technical knowledge of automotive parts and their function components: * Confidence to communicate and deal with people at all levels * IT knowledge including Microsoft, Word, and Excel * Technical Report writing * Ability to use inspection measuring equipment * Qualification within engineering or motor vehicles Desirable: * Experience of working within a quality control environment * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings * This role would suit a Vehicle technician or an Automotive Engineer * Worked within a quality inspection environment Key Responsibilities: * Participation in the development/testing and enhancement of specific product designs and the creation of process FMEAs (failure mode and effects analysis). * Performing visual and physical inspections of development samples, production samples and stock. * Creation of product inspection reports. * Providing our factories with approvals or rejections based on the evaluation of inspection results. * The control of and use of measuring equipment on site. * Technical support and ‘know-how’ to other departments and customers. * Inspection and diagnosis of failure samples assisting the Warranty department What We Offer You: * Competitive Salary: We’re open to tailoring the job offer to fit your skills and experience. * Environment: Work from our modern Swindon offices. * Growth Opportunities: Be part of an ambitious, fast-growing company. * Supportive Team: Join a close-knit group that values fresh ideas, innovation, and teamwork * Workplace pension * On-site parking, Drinks & Fruit complimentary, Service gifts for 5,10,15 plus years * Increased holiday for long service
