SEMH / Autism Teaching Assistant - Oldham - September Start Pay: £110 - £120 per day (depending on experience) Contract: Temporary / Long-term (with potential for permanent placement directly with the school in the future) We are currently recruiting for a dedicated, resilient, and compassionate SEMH / Autism Teaching Assistant to join an Alternative Provision setting in the Oldham area for a September start. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism (ASC), helping them to re-engage with learning in a supportive and structured environment. Role Responsibilities: Supporting pupils with SEMH and Autism needs on a 1:1 and small group basis Working within an Alternative Provision setting Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement in learning Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils Helping create a safe, consistent, and supportive learning environment Working closely with teaching staff, therapists, and pastoral teams Promoting independence, confidence, and positive behaviour strategies Requirements: Experience working with children or young people (school-based or transferable skills from care/support/youth work/SEND environments) Strong understanding of SEMH, Autism, or additional needs (desirable but not essential) Calm, patient, and resilient approach Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a professional and supportive way Strong communication and teamwork skills Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Child & Adult) preferred OR willingness to obtain a new DBS Apply: Please apply directly on here or contact me via: 📧 📞 (phone number removed)
