Teacher of Welsh • Type: Contract / Long-term / Supply (depending on availability) • Location: Rhondda Cynon Taff & surrounding areas • Start date: ASAP • Hours: Full-time (part-time considered) • Pay: Paid to scale (MPS/UPS, dependent on experience) Are you a passionate Welsh Teacher who believes in the power of language education to inspire learners, strengthen cultural identity, and develop students’ communication skills? Elementa Support Services is working in partnership with supportive and forward-thinking secondary schools to recruit enthusiastic and knowledgeable Teachers of Welsh who can deliver engaging, interactive lessons across the curriculum. This role offers the opportunity to inspire young people to develop fluency, confidence, and appreciation of the Welsh language while fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment. About the Role As a Teacher of Welsh, you will: • Plan and deliver engaging Welsh lessons in line with the national curriculum • Develop learners’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in Welsh • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress effectively • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive behaviour at all times • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider school community What We’re Looking For To be considered, candidates must have: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) • Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply (Elementa can assist) • Experience teaching Welsh at secondary level (including placements) • Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills Desirable: • Experience across KS3 and KS4 • A reflective and adaptable teaching approach • Creativity in lesson planning and use of Welsh language resources Recruitment & Safeguarding Information All applications will be managed by Elementa Support Services as the recruitment partner for this client.
